CONCLUSION

The methodology for performance assessment of DBT systems is not well established. Further investigation and international harmonization on protocol and phantoms are desirable.

BACKGROUND

Digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) systems have been recently introduced. Their physical-technical evaluation is still difficult due to the lack of agreement on protocols and procedures. In this work a methodology for the characterization of a DBT system is presented. Different commercial and prototypal systems have been tested
