PURPOSE/AIM

3D medical imaging has evolved from the research lab to becoming a part of routine radiology practice. The purposes of this exhibit are (1) to identify and illustrate the various 3D imaging applications that exist today, and (2) to describe the proper use of 3D CPT coding in order to achieve billing compliance.

CONTENT ORGANIZATION

A. Identify and illustrate current 3D imaging procedures, including CTA/MRA, cardiac imaging, VC, MRCP, and 3D tumor volume measurements. B. Describe the history and process for developing CPT codes for 3D imaging examinations C. Clarify the proper use of 3D CPT coding, particularly with regards to the new CPT codes 76376 and 76377, in order to achieve billing compliance.

SUMMARY

To achieve proper billing compliance for 3D imaging examinations, this exhibit will illustrate the following: A. Current 3D imaging procedures, including CTA/MRA, cardiac imaging, VC, MRCP, and 3D tumor volume measurements. B. History and process for developing CPT codes for 3D imaging procedures. C. Proper use of 3D CPT coding, particularly with regards to the new CPT codes 76376 and 76377.
