1. Review normal radiographic location of mediastinal, hilar and parenchymal structures on a lateral chest x ray
2. Develop a structured approach to interpreting normal and abnormal lateral chest radiographs.
3. Localize abnormality seen on lateral chest x ray to a specific medistainal compartment and derive a reasonable list of differential diagnosis for each mediastinal compartment
1. Radiographs showing normal radiographic landmarks including bronchi, vasculature, parenchymal lobes and mediastinal compartments.
2. Radiographic signs, potential spaces and hidden areas on lateral chest x ray.
3. Case examples showing correlation of imaging findings on lateral chest radiograph with frontal view and CT images.
