It is essential to understand the dynamics of the intraarticular portion of the biceps tendon in relation to shoulder movement for the ultrasound examination.
A maneuver in abduction and internal rotation (Mick Jagger position) can help to visualize the intraarticular portion of the biceps tendon and its pathology.
1. Anatomy:
- Cadaveric study illustrating the anatomy of the intraarticular portion of the biceps tendon, the relationship between the tendon and its surrounding structures, the position of the technique in relationship to the shoulder movements.
2. Detailed ultrasound technique:
- Description of the Mick Jagger position
- Optimal acoustic window
3. Normal ultrasonographic aspects
4. Pathological ultrasonographic aspects
