1. Young-onset dementia (YOD), that is dementia diagnosed before 65 years of age, includes a wide variety of diseases.
2. The new entities of YOD including hereditary diffuse leukoencephalopathy with spheroids (HDLS) and neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) have been reported.
3. To know the MR imaging characteristics of the brain in patients with YOD is useful for the accurate diagnosis.
