The purposes of this exhibit are: 1. To learn a spectrum of diseases and complications during pregnancy 2. To demonstrate MR imaging findings and diagnostic points in assessment of the acute abdomen in pregnancy 3. To discuss the value of diffusion-weighted images (DWI)

1. Approach to abdominal pain in pregnancy - Causes of abdominal pain in pregnancy - Physiologic and anatomic changes during pregnancy - Indications and roles of MRI in the acute abdomen in pregnancy 2. MR imaging protocol 3. Review of MR imaging findings of the acute abdomen in pregnancy i) Non-obstetrical disorders: gastrointestinal diseases (appendicitis, colitis), gynecological diseases (ovarian torsion, leiomyoma with red degeneration) etc. ii) Obstetrical complications: ectopic pregnancy, placental disorders (placental abruption, subchorionic hemorrhage)
