The purpose of this exhibit is: 1. To review the embriology and classification of malrotation 2. To define the CT signs of intestinal malrotation 3. To show fluoroscopic findings of Intestinal malrotation on CT 4. To describe the CT findings that are related to intestinal malrotation and propose a new one

TABLE OF CONTENTS/OUTLINE

Embryology of intestinal development and malrotation Classification of malrotation: Nonrotation, partial malrotation and inverse rotation CT signs of intestinal malrotation: Malposition of the duodenojejunal junction and proximal jejunum in partial malrotation.  A right-sided small bowel and a left-sided colon with a cecum located in the midline in Nonrotation. Description of related findings and sample cases: Aplasia/hypoplasia of the uncinate process or a short pancreas. Inverted/vertical position of the superior mesenteric vessels. IVC. Preduodenal portal vein. Duodenum located anteriorly to the mesenteric vessels. Polysplenia/asplenia. Proposal of a new finding and description: Right-sided position of the superior mesenteric vessels. Summary
