This exihibit will teach participants:
– subtle signs of architectural distortion on ultrasound,
– troubleshooting techniques in hard-to-find lesions,
– benefits and limitations of advanced ultrasound modes such as harmonics, spectral compound imaging, and other automated image optimization tools in the characterization of architectural distortion,
– optimal techniques for ultrasound-guided biopsy of architectual disortion.
1. Indications for ultrasound in the work-up of architectural distortion detected with tomosynthesis
2. Sonographic imaging findings of architectural distortion with tomosynthesis correlation
3. Troubleshooting Techniques:
using the parenchymal pattern seen on tomosynthesis to localize the lesion
repositioning the patient
imaging behind the nipple
using advanced ultrasound modes such as harmonics, spectral compound imaging, and power Doppler
4. Techniques for successful ultrasound-guided biopsy of architectural distortion
