The purpose of this exhibit is :
1. to recognize the different extra-intestinal manifestations and complications in children with inflammatory bowel disease.
2. To review the utility of imaging modalities in the identification and reassessment of organic findings (signs and complications) at time of diagnosis and on monitoring of the selected therapies.
1.Introduction-Classification of Extra-intestinal manifestations in children with Inflammatory Bowel Disease: a.Musculoskeletal (peripheral arthropathies, enthesopathies, axial arthropathies) b.Mucocutaneous signs (erythema nodosum, pyoderma gangrenosum) c.Hepatopancreaticobiliary (Primary sclerosing cholangitis, hepatitis, pancreatitis) d.Thromboembolic disease e.Neurologic/ocular manifestations f. Bone health issues (osteoporosis, short stature)
2. Extra-intestinal complications: a.Organic disorders related to different therapeutic agents ( steroids, immunosuppressants, anti-TNF therapy) b. Reactivation of tuberculosis, hepatitis B c. Nephrolithiasis
