The trachea and central bronchi are often ignored on radiographic and computed tomographic exams of the chest. After reviewing this exhibit, the participant will have a greater interest in, and an improved understanding of, disease processes that affect the trachea and central bronchi. In this exhibit, we will: Briefly review anatomy of the trachea and central bronchi Review imaging of pathologic conditions of the trachea and central bronchi with pathologic correlation

Normal anatomy of trachea and central bronchi Tracheal and central airway pathology      Cartilaginous diseases (tracheobronchopathia osteochondroplastica, relapsing polychondritis)      Inflammatory (Wegener's, sarcoidosis, amyloidosis)      Infectious (bacterial tracheobronchitis, Aspergillus tracheobronchitis)      Neoplastic (squamous cell carcinoma, adenoid cystic carcinoma, carcinoid, metastatic disease)      Trauma/iatrogenic (perforation, post-intubation stenosis)      Other (Mounier-Kuhn)
