1. Review of easily missed findings on non-contrast CT head.
2. Present teaching points on how to avoid the errors.
Examples of easily missed pathology on noncontrast CT head including but not limited to the following:
1. Posterior fossa mass with 4th ventricle mass effect
2. Isodense subdural hematoma
3. Retrobulbar hemorrhage
4. Temporal bone fracture with ossicular dislocation
5. Dural venous sinus thrombosis
6. Subtle SAH in the interpeduncular cistern
7. Rapid expansion of a small subdural hematoma
8. Vertex epidural hematoma
9. Diffuse axonal injury
10. Hypotension mimicking dural venous thrombosis
11. Acute CVA “subinsular ribbon sign”
12. Meningitis: mild hydrocephalus
13. HSV encephalitis: inferior frontal or temporal edema
