TEACHING POINTS

The purposes of this exhibit are: To review the principles and techniques of parametric imaging based on model-free and model-based pharmacokinetic analyses on breast dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI). To discuss the clinical feasibility of kinetic parametric data extracted from breast DCE-MRI with high spatial but ordinary temporal resolution routine protocol, and present our experience with visualized color maps which characterized breast cancer angiogenesis.

TABLE OF CONTENTS/OUTLINE

Basic techniques of kinetic parametric imaging on breast DCE-MRI MRI protocol Qualitative analysis Semiquantitative analysis Quantitative pharmacokinetic modelling analysis Clinical applications of kinetic parametric imaging with routine breast DCE-MRI protocols Cancer detection Visualization of angiogenesis in breast cancer Correlation with molecular subtypes of breast cancer Monitoring response of chemotherapy Discussions Feasibility and limitations
