1. The majority of vaginal masses are benign, however a small number of cases may be attributed to primary and secondary malignancies of the vagina.
2. Benign masses are usually incidental cystic lesions of female lower genitourinary tract which can be distinguished by key anatomic relationships and characteristic radiographic signs described in this exhibit.
3. Advances in MRI imaging have contributed to the high-resolution, noninvasive, cross-sectional imaging of this region.
4. Primary and secondary vaginal malignancies have characteristic imaging features depending on histologic type of malignancy.
1. Normal lower female genitourinary tract anatomy
2. Role of US, CT, and MR imaging in distinguishing the types of vaginal masses and cystic lesions with emphasis on characteristic radiologic findings
3. Periurethral cystic lesions
a. Gardner Duct Cyst
b. Bartholin Gland Cyst
c. Skene Duct Cyst
d. Mullerian Duct Cyst
4. Benign Urethral Disease
a. Urethral Diverticulum
b. Urethral Leiomyoma
c. Urethral Fistula
5. Primary Vaginal Malignancies
6. Secondary Vaginal Malignancies
7. Conclusion
