TEACHING POINTS

- Optimal opacification of the arteries is essential for CTA - Matching timing with vessel dynamics significantly improves vessel opacification - This leads to increased arterial opacification and reduced venous opacification - This can also lead to a reduced volume of contrast agent. - This can also lead to reduced radiation dose

TABLE OF CONTENTS/OUTLINE

A. Vascular Anatomy B. contrast media parameters that affect bolus shaping C. scanner parameters that affect vascular opacification D. scanner and contrast parameters affect radiation dose E. stenosis and aneurysm effects on blood/contrast circulation F. Pearls and Pitfalls G. Outcomes
