Data continue to emerge that facilitate the optimal management of patients with lymphoma by tailoring the intensity of treatment based on the response to both functional and anatomic imaging. Recent studies illustrate, however, that there is no "one size fits all" approach to utilizing FDG-PET, CT and MRI to evaluate response and adjust treatment accordingly.
This session will review recent data regarding the use of functional and anatomic imaging to manage lymphoma with emphasis on 1. technical aspects of obtaining optimal images, and recognizing pitfalls in lymphoma imaging 2. understanding reporting needs of oncologists with respect to clinical decision making, 3. the use of functional imaging for radiation therapy planning, and chemotherapy modification, and 4. emerging standards regarding the use of imaging in follow-up of treated patients.
