1) Identify the application of basic anatomic, pathologic, and physiologic principles to specific disease processes that affect the hip. 2) Illustrate by using case examples of imaging findings of several important disease processes that affect the hip. 3) Present the major teaching points and differential diagnostic considerations for each of the chosen cases.
ABSTRACT
Hip pain is a common clinical problem and imaging is often critical for the accurate determination of the etiology of the pain. A series of cases will be used to illustrate common causes of hip pain, with attention to the most appropriate imaging protocol, the important imaging findings, the anatomic and pathophysiologic factors that explain the findings, and the differential diagnosis of the imaging findings.
