The aim of this exhibit are:
-To show unusual form of presentation of tuberculous vertebral osteomyelitis (TVO) as seen with CT and MRI.
-To know the manifestations of this disorder to avoid underdiagnosis, leading to the possible development of complications.
-To remember the normal presentation of TVO.
-In some patients, the form of presentation of TVO is often atypical. We want to show several examples of TVO with unusual locations and manifestations.
• TVO infection confined to one vertebral body.
• Multiple spinal lesions.
• The cervical spine is often involved.
• Lytic and sclerotic changes.
• Involvement of the posterior elements of the vertebrae.
• Exceptionally large abscess formation with calcification in the
wall and fistulization.
• Lack of involvement of the intervertebral disc.
