1) Review underlying clinical scenarios that predispose patients to develop hepatocellular carcinoma.
2) Understand typical imaging appearances at MR imaging such that when characteristic imaging features are seen in the correct clinical setting, we can be certain that the diagnosis is hepatocellular carcinoma.
3) Describe variant features and secondary signs that are either suggestive of, or argue against, the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma.
