To review the normal anatomy on TRUS & correlation with cross-sectional imaging(CT/MRI) To discuss the imaging findings of pathologies of prostate & surrounding structures To explain the utility of TRUS in interventions

Normal imaging anatomy of prostate, seminal vesicles and surrounding structures on ultrasound. Pathologies of prostate: Prostatitis:hyperechoic and hypoechoic areas within the prostate with capsule thickening suggesting seminal vesiculitis Prostatic abscess Granulomatous prostatitis:hyperechoic and calcified areas scattered within the prostate and the seminal vesicles Prostate cancer: Hypoechoic focal lesions and heterogeneous texture Pathologies beyond the prostate: Utricular cysts:small midline lesions Mullerian duct cysts:large midline cysts protruding above the prostate Ejaculatory duct cysts:thick walled cystic lesions along the course of the ejaculatory duct Seminalvesicle cysts Bladder: cystitis, diverticulum, colovesical fistula Pelvic AVM Ectopic ureter TRUS guided interventions Biopsies Cyst/abscess aspiration Seminal vesiculography Sperm harvesting

The major teaching points of this exhibit are: 1.Review of normal imaging anatomy on TRUS and correlation with CT/MRI 2.TRUS of pathologies of prostate & surrounding structures.
