Verification of the sensing function to detect extravasation of contrast medium
for newly designed.
Conduct an experiment on pig skin to evaluate sensor part. As evaluation device, we used data logger to evaluate the sequential data. And, we used high sensitive camera for the imaging due to the device using infrared ray.
1. Injecting Iodine contrast medium into pig skin and take sensing test on change of infrared ray sequentially.
2. Take measurement on energy of light receive part.
3. Comparing old model (1 light emitter) and new model (4 light emitters) in light emitting part.
Evaluation has been done through 1519 patiants of clinical examination with its Detection Probability of Extravasation and evaluated sequential data of infrared ray by using data logger.
In evaluating pig skin, amount of light receive has started decreasing after injection contrast medium 150msec, and almost amount of infrared light has been decreased with injection of 300msec.
The distance between light emitter and light receiving element in sensor part is affected by current value, and also the strength of light receiving element has been decreased by 50% from 5mm. In energy distribution, it is necessary to use current value of 20mmA in order to reach 5mm in depth. Improving to 4 light emitters bring homogenization of light emitter comparing with old models. In clinical examination, detected extravasation 17counts of total 1519 examinations, and uncompleted only one time.
The new developed extravasation detector has better sensing function comparing old type of detector.
Enhance the safety of CT angiography by using a extravasation detection system.
