ASRT@RSNA 2012: Digital Radiography Image Processing: What Every Technologist Needs to Know

Multisession Courses — General , Physics and Basic Science,

Presented on November 29, 2012

Participants

Andrew P. Woodward MA,RT, Presenter: Educator, Siemens AG Educator, Koninklijke Philips Electronics NV

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1) Describe the characteristics and creation of the analog image (Density, Contrast, Spatial resolution, Processing). 2) Describe digital image processing (Automatic rescaling - Brightness, Contrast, Look Up Table (LUT), Spatial Resolution, Edge Enhancement, Equalization).

ABSTRACT

The change from film-screen imaging to digital imaging has not only changed the image receptor but the processing of the image. This lecture looks at what the computer does with the image data extracted from image receptor.
