1) Review the basic principles of contrast medium injection and with this to understand the important injections parameters needed for a robust direct and indirect CT venography protocol of thorax, abdomen and upper or lower extremities. 2) Review specific CT venography imaging features reflecting acute versus chronic and bland versus malignant thrombus, respectively. 3) Understand pitfalls and interpretative difficulties inherent to CT venography.
