LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1) Learn to choose a method of collecting cases that fits one’s own radiology workflow. 2) Understand the pros and cons of using a commercial teaching file solution. 3) Discuss practical techiniques for managing teaching file cases and users.

ABSTRACT

Teaching files have long been a mainstay of radiology education. Moving these files to a digital online format has only increased their utility, allowing simultaneous access by many users and easy repurposing for many scholarly projects. I help administer the commercial system (MyPACS) used by our department. I will describe how we implemented this system and fit it into our radiology workflow, as well as how we collect our teaching cases and manage them and our users. I will demonstrate how we use the system for teaching conferences, lectures, board review sessions, case reports, books and other scholarly projects.
