PURPOSE/AIM

The purpose of this exhibit is to introduce Zuska's Disease to Radiologists;  This entity also known as lactiferous fistula, is a rare recurrent condition characterized by draining abscesses around the nipple. This disease is often misanalyzed and miscured, occasionally resulting in unnecessary mastectomy.  

CONTENT ORGANIZATION

  Based on several cases of  Zuska's Breast Disease biopsed and diagnosed  in our  institution we will present: A Etiology and Clinical Presentation  B. Imaging findings   C. Histopathologic correlation D) Treatment    

SUMMARY

Zuska's Disease, also known as lactiferous fistula, is a rare recurrent condition characterized by draining abscesses around the areolar area. This entity's name   is still unkown  by the majority of  Radiologists, and is  often misanalyzed and miscured, occasionally resulting in unnecessary mastectomy. The clinical presentation, imaging findings associated and histopathological correlation  are reviewed.
