PURPOSE/AIM

1. To discuss various T2 hypointense renal lesions. 2. To explain the utility of imaging in the differential diagnosis. 3. To discuss rad -path correlation, expaining the reason for hypointensity in these lesions.

CONTENT ORGANIZATION

1. We will review imaging features of various T2 hypointense renal lesions. 2.  We will show sample cases with pathological correlation. 3. Literature review for the specific imaging appearence. 3. Follow up recommendation.

SUMMARY

T2 hypointense renal lesions are not uncommon on MR imaging. They may range from haemporrhagic cysts to benign and malignant tumors. Certain imaging features can help in the differentiation.
