PURPOSE/AIM

This exhibit: (1) provides a basic introduction of RadLex, (2) demonstrates how RadLex terms and IDs (RIDs) can facilitate data exchange between systems and multiple collaborators, and (3) allows attendees to interact with xrayhead msk, Stanford MSK MRI Atlas, and Stanford Atlas of MSK measurements, free RadLex-based educational web applications.

CONTENT ORGANIZATION

Differences in disease and anatomy nomenclature usage limit the ability of Radiology domain systems to exchange information. RSNA's RadLex is a lexicon for uniform indexing and retrieval of Radiology information resources and can be implemented in teaching resources to promote the exchange of radiology data and empower radiologists’ collaborative clinical and scholarly activities. Attendees will learn about RadLex and interact with example educational RadLex-based web applications.

SUMMARY

After reviewing this interactive exhibit, the attendee will understand how RadLex can be implemented in educational web applications and how RadLex is essential for facilitating collaboration among authors. Stanford MSK MRI Atlas, xrayhead msk TF, and Stanford Atlas of MSK measurements are free RadLex-based web applications that use RadLex terms to promote standardized communication and reporting.
