The purpose of this exhibit is:
1. To explain the importance of combining FLAIR, ADC and MRS for classification of meningioma
2. To elucidate cellular proliferative activity of meningioma by means of ADC
3. To review the differential diagnosis and to propose the utility of MRS
1. WHO classification of meningioma
2. Appearance of FLAIR, ADC and MRS between grades of meningioma
3. The correlation of ADC and Ki-67 antigen expression
4. The difference of MR appearance between benign and malignant meningioma
5. Imaging findings of other brain masses which mimic meningioma and clues to differential diagnosis with use of MRS
6. Summary
In this educational exhibit, the MR imaging findings of meningioma according to WHO classification by means of FLAIR, DWI, and MRS are shown. Combining these imaging techniques allows accurate diagnosis between benign and malignant meningioma. The correlation of ADC and Ki-67 antigen expression and differential diagnosis are demonstrated. Advanced MR imaging will be exemplified as an important adjunct in the imaging diagnosis.
