1) To better appreciate the natural history and context of degenerative changes of the lumbar spine for purposes of diagnostic image interpretation. 2) To help standardize nomenclature in the interpretation of degenerative disc disease. 3) To examine the spectrum of pitfalls when imaging the lumbar spine by MRI.
