LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1) The audience will learn how disruptive behaviors disable a team to function effectively. 2) Learn processes for handling individual disruptive behavior through setting up systems within the hospital or institution. 3) Learn how to set up standards of behavior before disruptive behavior occurs and explain how it will be handled.

ABSTRACT

1) Identify disruptive physician behavior in the department and practice  settings, and understand its consequences for colleagues, staff, and patients. a. The audience will learn how disruptive behaviors disable a team to function effectively. b. Learn Processes for handling individual disruptive behavior through setting up systems within the hospital or institution. c. Learn how to set up standards of behavior before disruptive behavior occurs and explain how it will be handled.   2) Characterize the underlying causes of disruptive physician behavior and the implications of those causes for addressing it.     3)Describe the options for responding to and managing disruptive physician behavior.
