LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1) Understand how the structural organization of the cartilage collagen network determines the relative T2 relaxation of articular cartilage. 2) Improve diagnosis of early cartilage injury. 3)Appreciate emerging applications of cartilage T2 mapping in the study of cartilage physiology, in vivo biomechanics, and pathophysiology of osteoarthritis.
