Improvements in temporal and spatial resolution in cardiac CT angiography now allow imaging of coronary artery pathology beyond the traditional assessment of coronary stenosis due to atherosclerotic disease. Familiarity of these conditions is essential when evaluating patients for chest pain.
1. Coronary artery dissection
2. Coronary artery fistulas
3. Pseudoaneurysm of the coronary artery
4. Examples of anomalous coronary anatomy
5. Coronary artery bridging
Until the development of cardiac CT angiography with adequate temporal and spatial resolution, non-atherosclerotic disease of the coronary arteries was limited to direct coronary angiography or post-mortem discovery. Recognition of these diseases, including coronary dissections, pseudoaneurysms, fistulous connections, bridging and anomalies, is essential in the diagnostic evaluation of patient with chest symptoms.
