PURPOSE/AIM

1. To describe the various types of lung surgeries 2. To learn the post-operative imaging findings 3. To learn to identify the complications.

CONTENT ORGANIZATION

Each procedure will be explained with schematic diagram of surgery, post-operative imaging findings and pertinent post-operative complications. Differences between thoracotomy and VATS ( video assisted thoracoscopic surgery) will be discussed. The surgical procedures range from wedge resection to pneumonectomy including innovative procedures such lung volume reduction surgery, sleeve resection of lobes with reimplantation of bronchi and reconstrunctions.

SUMMARY

Exhibit will review various types of lung surgeries ranging from wedge resection to pneumenectomy done by thoracotomy and VATS, post-operative imaging findings and complications.
