The purpose of this exhibit is 1) To describe the several collateral arcades (Arc of Riolan, Kirk, Rio Branco, Buhler Drumond, Villemin 2) To review physiopatology of each collateral system and the potential vascular obstruction 3) To review the CTA technical parameters post-processing techniques.
1) Anatomy of collateral arcades (Arc of Riolan, Kirk, Rio Branco, Buhler Drumond, Villemin 2) physiopatology of each collateral system and the potential vascular obstruction 3) To review the CTA technical parameters and post-processing techniques (Maximum Intensity Projection, Shaded Surface Display and Volume Rendering). 4) Presentation of relevant cases.
Identification of collateral arcades may be adequately performed by using MDCTA. In particular the use of MIP and VR post-processing procedures produces angiographic-like images. To depict collateral arcades it is extremely important to use correct MDCT parameters.
