1. Improve the relevance of radiology reporting of shoulder MRI to surgical decision-making.
2. Review specific imaging findings and describe the findings in the language used by orthopedic surgeons.
3. Discuss the surgical decisions based on these findings.
1. Selected shoulder pathologies including RTC injury and labral tears.
2. Imaging findings of specific interest to surgical decision-making and planning, including presence of os acromiale, presence of a bony Bankart, grading of rotator cuff musculature atrophic change, biceps tendon subluxation, and extra-articular findings.
3. Imaging findings less relevant to orthopedic surgeons.
4. Preliminary standardized report based on radiology-orthopedic surgery discussion.
1. Radiologists can improve MRI shoulder reports by addressing issues that are relevant to orthopedic surgical planning and by using language of the orthopedic surgeons.
