Computed Radiography/Digital Radiography: Radiologist Perspective of Controlling Dose and Study Quality

Refresher Courses

Presented on November 28, 2006
Presented as part of RC325: Categorical Course in Diagnostic Radiology Physics: From Invisible to Visible—The Science and Practice of X-Ray Imaging and Radiation Dose Optimization

Participants

Cornelia Schaefer-Prokop MD, Presenter: Nothing to Disclose

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1) Demonstrate ways to estimate acquisition dose with various DR and CR systems and review current opinions on “how much dose is needed”. 2) Identify criteria of image quality and review means of “how to assess and compare image quality” from a radiologist’s viewpoint. 3) Review features that influences image quality and demonstrate how to optimize and control them.
