Review the normal anatomy and anatomic variants of paranasal sinuses and adjacent structures.
Review the imaging CT protocol, the radiologic report and the information the surgeon needs.
Describe the main functional endoscopic sinusal surgery techniques, their imaging manifestations and possible complications.
Patients with persistent nasosinusal disease usually require surgical intervention. Functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) has undergone important changes in the last years through innovations in both surgical and radiological fields and a good imaging protocol is important in preoperative and postoperative management. We have developed an interactive tutorial based upon more than 200 surgical cases in which we include: (1) Normal anatomy of naso-sinusal complex, and anatomical variants, (2) Computed Tomography (CT ) technique and radiologic report, (3) FESS description and its variants, (4) FESS complications. The program is developed using Flash ©(Macromedia) and all the sections are fully and graphically explained with interactive drawings so the user takes an active role in the learning.
