LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1) Understand the need for quality control in cardiac imaging with spiral CT. 2) Learn about flat-panel detector CT imaging and its use in interventional CT. 3) Learn about the potential of CT for small-animal imaging.

ABSTRACT

Among the new applications, cardiac CT is presently the most prominent. CT-based image-guided and navigated therapy and interventions constitute a further example. CT imaging on C-arm units equipped with flat-panel detectors will be described. This leads to the discussion of potential future developments including new activities such as micro-CT in animals.
