LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1) To understand the significance of a thickened endometrial stripe, particularly in a post-menopausal woman with vaginal bleeding and to learn a practical approach to evaluation of patients with endometrial abnormality. 2) To appreciate the difference between adenomyosis and leiomyomata in the inhomogeneous myometrium. 3) To understand potential problem areas in the ultrasound diagnosis of adnexal masses and learn how to recognize these pitfalls.
