Abstract: HTML An echogenic nodule is commonly discovered during ultrasound of the patient with suspected chronic liver disease or staging process in the patient with known malignancy. Common differential diagnosis includes hepatocellular carcinoma, dysplastic nodule, metastasis, hemangioma, focal fibrosis and focal fatty infiltration. The lesions can have the same appearance on US. After US, CT, MRI and nuclear scintigraphy are used actively for differentiation of these lesions. Most tumors have typical findings on CT and MRI. However, some tumors and benign lesions have diagnostic confusions on various imaging modalities. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate various causes of echogenic nodules in the liver on US and to define the US, CT and MR imaging features of these lesions. The important points for differential diagnosis of these lesions will be discussed and an algorithm will be proposed. Knowledge of echogenic nodules on US can be avoided unnecessary biopsy.     1. Understand various causes of the echogenic nodules in liver on ultrasound. 2. Recognize practical approach for differential diagnosis of the echogenic nodules       Questions about this event email: sejung@catholic.ac.kr
